Regular Season Round 19: Megaridas - Koroivos 79-87

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Megaridas' (9-9) home loss to eighth ranked Koroivos (11-7) 79-87 on Wednesday. Koroivos made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Koroivos outrebounded Megaridas 41-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American swingman Julien Lewis (193-1992, college: Fresno St., agency: Diamond Sports) fired 17 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Power forward Panagiotis Vyrlas (208-1999) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Lewis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Dimitrios Geromichalos produced 14 points and American guard Jackson Dubinski (185-1996, college: Columbia, MO, agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 10 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Koroivos moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted Megaridas dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Charilaos. Koroivos will meet at home Aias Evosmou (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Megaridas will play against Kavalas and hope to secure a win.
