There was an upset when higher ranked Torrent (12-8) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Alginet B (5-14) 76-66 on Wednesday. Alginet B forced 21 Torrent turnovers. Strangely Torrent outrebounded Alginet B 48-36 including 20 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Ivan Santafe (198-2002) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Guillem Marin (180-1993) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Center Lucas Blasco (197-1998) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds and point guard Marc Alberola (-2002) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Alginet B moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Torrent lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Alginet B will meet at home higher ranked Castello 2 (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Torrent will play against Sueca and will have a slim chance for a victory.
