The game between closely ranked teams ended with first ranked ETB Miners' (18-3) home victory over their biggest opponent Muenster 2 (12-9) in Essen 102-58 on Saturday. ETB Miners outrebounded Muenster 2 53-25 including a 42-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Muenster 2's players. Montenegrin center Dzemal Selimovic (205-1999) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Devin Peterson (185, college: WCU) supported him with 12 points and 6 assists. Four ETB Miners players scored in double figures. ETB Miners' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by point guard Lorenz Neuhaus (183-2003) did not help to save the game for Muenster 2. Phil Schmidt (192-2003) added 10 points for lost side. ETB Miners maintains first position with 18-3 record. Newly promoted Muenster 2 dropped to the fourth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Hagen-Haspe. ETB Miners will meet Leverkusen 2 (#12) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Muenster 2 will play against BG TVO / Jahn (#13) and hope to secure a win.
