Second Stage Round 10: Mazeikiai - Zalgiris II 71-62

The most important game in the last round took place in Mazeikiai between third ranked Zalgiris II (24-10) and fourth ranked Mazeikiai (22-13) on Saturday night. Zalgiris II was defeated by Mazeikiai in a tough game on the road 62-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Zalgiris II. 24 personal fouls committed by Zalgiris II helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Karolis Guscikas (206-1992, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Arturas Jomantas (200-1985) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Liutauras Lelevicius (201-2003) replied with 17 points and point guard Kajus Kublickas (186-2004) added 15 points in the effort for Zalgiris II. Mazeikiai maintains fourth position with 22-13 record. Zalgiris II at the other side keeps the third place with ten games lost. Mazeikiai will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Zalgiris II will play at home against the league's second-placed Telsiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
