Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Koeln DTV (13-8) outplayed at home 14th ranked Aachen (4-17) 92-73 on Saturday. Koeln DTV forced 20 Aachen turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including 26 on the defensive glass. American-British guard Elijah Jenkins (190, college: Embry Riddle) notched 26 points to lead the effort and Valentin Blass (198-1995) supported him with 6 points and 9 rebounds. Four Koeln DTV players scored in double figures. Even 20 points by power forward Henrik Bertz (207-1996) did not help to save the game for Aachen. Guard Aleksandar Obradovic (196-1998) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Koeln DTV have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Ibbenbueren. Aachen at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. Koeln DTV will meet Bonn 2 (#6) on the road in the next round. Aachen will play against Recklinghausen (#9) and hope to secure a win.
