Rather expected game when 3rd ranked MBK (1-4) was smashed by top-ranked Piestanske C. (5-0) in Ruzomberok 79-59 on Saturday. The winners were led by Czech point guard Gabriela Andelova (173-1996, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) who scored that evening 20 points and 9 rebounds and Croatian forward Ana Mandic (184-2001) supported her with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Piestanske C. players scored in double figures. Piestanske C.'s coach Peter Jankovic used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 9 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists by Lucia Hadacova (185-1995) did not help to save the game for MBK. The former international center Sona Svetlikova (184-1999) added 15 points for lost side. Piestanske C. have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 5-0 record, which they share with Young Angels. Loser MBK keeps the third place with four games lost. They share the position with BB UMB. Piestanske C. will meet at home league's second-placed Slavia BB in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. MBK will play against Samorin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
