There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Torrent (12-8) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Castello 2 (10-10) 71-61 on Sunday. Castello 2 had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Castello 2 made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Victor Rodriguez (201-2000) who helped to win the game recording 8 points and 10 rebounds and Croatian forward Ante Sustic (211-1997, college: Central Mo.) who added 10 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Castello 2 players scored in double figures. Center Lucas Blasco (197-1998) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and Hugo Baeza scored 6 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Castello 2 moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Valencia 2 and Picken Claret. Torrent lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Castello 2 will meet Alginet B (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Torrent will play against Sueca (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
