Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Vilkaviskis (15-20) smashed at home bottom-ranked Neptunas-Akv. (7-28) 95-71 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was Klaidas Metrikis (204-2000) who scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Mantvydas Zukauskas (192-1998) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Five Vilkaviskis players scored in double figures. Guard Adomas Sidarevicius (188-2001) produced 13 points and 4 assists and center Jonas Paukste (224-2000) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Neptunas-Akv.'s coach Alfredas Kaniava gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Vilkaviskis moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Delikatesas. Loser Neptunas-Akv. stay dead last with 28 lost games. Vilkaviskis will meet higher ranked Stekas (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Neptunas-Akv. will play against Rytas 2 (#9) and hope to secure a win.
