There was a surprise result when Belgian Okapi Aalst outleveled at home Dutch BAL Weert 102-67 on Saturday. Okapi Aalst shot 24 for 34 from the free-throw line, while BAL Weert only scored five points from the stripe. Okapi Aalst forced 24 BAL Weert turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Okapi Aalst especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. American forward Josh Price (205-1996, college: S.Indiana) stepped up and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Montenegrin Ivan Maras (207-1986) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Okapi Aalst players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Revelinio Tholel (201-1999, college: Slippery Rock) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Walker Miller (208-1997, college: Monmouth) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Okapi Aalst will meet Amsterdam on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. BAL Weert will have a break next round.
