Regular Season Round 21: Torrent - Sueca 68-62

There was a minor upset when 3rd placed Sueca (14-7) lost on the road to fifth ranked Torrent (13-8) 68-62 on Saturday. Torrent forced 26 Sueca turnovers. Center Lucas Blasco (197-1998) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and Russian guard Ivan Alexandrov (192-2003) accounted for 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Torrent players scored in double figures. Forward Sergio Cecilia (198-2000) came up with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Carles Grau added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Sueca in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Torrent maintains fifth place with 13-8 record. Loser Sueca dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Torrent will meet higher ranked Esportiu (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sueca will play against Alginet B and hope to secure a win.
