Everything went according to plan when Craiova (4-6) defeated on the road Timisoara (3-8) 85-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Craiova. Timisoara managed to win fourth quarter 28-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Craiova had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Finnish Topias Palmi (196-1994, agency: Blacktop Management) who led the winners and scored 29 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard Cortez Edwards (188-1997, college: Southern Miss, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 17 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. Serbian center Igor Kesar (210-1992, agency: Mansfield and Associates) came up with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian-Bosnian point guard Nikola Gajic (195-1991, college: SF Austin) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively for Timisoara in the defeat. Timisoara's coach Dragan Petricevic rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Craiova will meet at home Oradea in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Timisoara will play against Rapid (#3) in Bucuresti and hope to secure a win.
