Second Stage Round 5: Slavia - USK Praha 61-93
Date: March 4, 2023
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Praha: USK Praha (#9) and Slavia (#10). Slavia was crushed at home by 32 points 61-93 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Slavia. USK Praha made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Slavia turnovers. International forward David Bohm (206-2001, college: EWU) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American guard PJ Pipes (188-1999, college: Santa Clara) chipped in 16 points and 6 assists. Four USK Praha players scored in double figures. The former international forward Pavel Pumprla (198-1986, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Trevor John (190-1995, college: Drexel) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. USK Praha (15-12) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain ninth place. Newly promoted Slavia keeps the tenth position with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
