Regular Season Round 17: Aris - Peristeri 78-83

Round 17 most important game was a victory of Peristeri over 6th ranked Aris 83-78 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Aris. 33 personal fouls committed by Aris helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. French point guard Sylvain Francisco (185-1997, agency: BeoBasket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American guard Marcus Denmon (191-1990, college: Missouri) contributed with 24 points for the winners. American guard JD Notae (188-1998, college: Arkansas) answered with 37 points (!!!) (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Canadian guard Elijah Mitrou-Long (185-1996, college: UNLV) added 12 points in the effort for Aris. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Peristeri (10-7) moved-up to third place, which they share with AEK and Promitheas. Aris at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with PAOK. Peristeri is looking forward to face Lavrio (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Aris will play against Karditsas and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
