Rather expected game when 4th placed Mannheim (14-8) was defeated at home by second ranked Saarlouis (20-4) 97-87 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was point guard Tom Demmer (185-2003) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. American center Jordan Camper (203, college: Lincoln, PA) chipped in 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Naturalized Russian Albert Kuppe (200-1988) produced 25 points and 7 rebounds and Eric Curth added 22 points respectively for the hosts. Mannheim's coach tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Saarlouis. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Mannheim dropped to the second place with eight games lost. They share the position with Ibbenbueren.
