Regular Season Round 24: Mantova - Ravenna 69-72
Date: March 5, 2023
Everything could happen in Mirandola at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Ravenna and 12th ranked Mantova had identical 8-15 record. But Mantova was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Ravenna 72-69 on Sunday night. Strangely Mantova outrebounded Ravenna 38-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Ravenna especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Serbian forward Danilo Petrovic (203-1999) who helped to win the game recording 28 points (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) and American point guard Kendall Anthony (173-1993, college: Richmond) who added 21 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward LaQuinton Ross (203-1992, college: Ohio St.) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and the former international power forward Antonio Iannuzzi (208-1991) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Mantova players scored in double figures. Ravenna (9-15) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Chiusi. Loser Mantova keeps the twelfth position with 16 games lost. They share it with San Severo. Ravenna will meet at home higher ranked Rimini (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mantova will play against Cento (#3) and hope to secure a win.
