Very expected game in Athens where 8th ranked Kolossos HH (8-9) was defeated by fourth ranked AEK (11-7) 95-89 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. AEK looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Kenny Williams III (193-1996, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) who scored 21 points. The former international point guard Dimitris Flionis (188-1997) chipped in 10 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard TJ Starks (188-1998, college: CSUN) who recorded 20 points and the former international guard Dimitris Katsivelis (195-1991) added 11 points and 6 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. AEK moved-up to third place, which they share with Peristeri. Kolossos HH lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. AEK will meet Promitheas (#5) in the next round. Kolossos HH will play against Apollon P. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
