Second Stage Round 7: Sokol Pisek - Pelhrimov 83-41

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Sokol Pisek (17-5) outleveled at home 7th ranked Pelhrimov (11-11) 83-41 on Saturday. Sokol Pisek dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Pelhrimov's 18. Sokol Pisek forced 34 Pelhrimov turnovers and outrebounded them 42-28 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Daniel Hejl (178-2004) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 6 assists. Power forward Petr Prochazka (197-2005) helped adding 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Sokol Pisek players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Ondrej Plasil (191-2004) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Latvian guard Toms Linis (194-2005) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sokol Pisek have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 17-5 record having just two points less than leader Tygri Praha. Pelhrimov lost tenth consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. Sokol Pisek will meet at home Synthesia (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Pelhrimov will play against the league's leader Hradec in J.Hradec and hope to secure a win.
