Regular Season Round 22: Mondragon - Valladolid 72-60

Very expected game when 14th ranked Valladolid (3-18) was defeated on the road by third ranked Mondragon (13-8) 72-60 on Sunday. Swingman Andoni Acha (195-1999) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winners (made all of his eight free throws). Guard Martxel Balanzategui (191-1992) chipped in 12 points. Forward Juan Saez (195-2002) produced 7 points and 14 rebounds and Juan Garcia-abril added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Mondragon maintains third position with 13-8 record having seven points less than leader Huelva CD, which they share with 5 other teams. Valladolid lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the thirteenth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Almozara. Mondragon will meet league's second-placed Getxo on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Valladolid will play against Santurtzi (#8) and hope to secure a win.
