Regular Season Round 23: AO Triton - Koroivos 81-69

There was no surprise in Athens where 8th ranked Koroivos (13-10) was defeated by second ranked AO Triton (14-8) 81-69 on Wednesday. It was a great evening for power forward Michalis Kamperidis (206-1994, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. American point guard Marcus Myers (185-1996, college: Aurora, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 15 points. Five AO Triton players scored in double figures. Power forward Panagiotis Vyrlas (208-1999) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian guard Stefan Mitrovic (195-1996) scored 9 points and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AO Triton have a solid series of three victories in a row. Despite that victory AO Triton went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with Eleftheroupoli. Loser Koroivos keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. AO Triton will meet at home Aias Evosmou (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Koroivos will play against Papagou (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
