Regular Season Round 20: Hottur - Keflavik 84-89

Very expected game in Egilsstadir where 10th ranked Hottur (7-13) was defeated by third ranked Keflavik (13-7) 89-84 on Thursday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 31-26. But Hottur won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian center Dominykas Milka (203-1992, college: St.Rose, NY) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican guard Eric Ayala (196-1999, college: Maryland) who added 15 points during the contest. American guard Tim Guers (190-1996, college: St.Anselm, agency: Diamond Sports) responded with 19 points and 7 assists and Montenegrin power forward Nemanja Knezevic (205-1987) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Five Keflavik and four Hottur players scored in double figures. Hottur's coach Einar Johannsson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Keflavik maintains third position with 13-7 record having four points less than leader Njardvik, which they share with Haukar. Hottur lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost. Keflavik will meet IR (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hottur will play against Breidablik in Kopavogur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
