The biggest surprise of round 3 in D1 took place in Ramla where host E.Ramla (2-1) crushed M.Ramat Gan (2-1) 85-64 on Thursday evening. E.Ramla made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. E.Ramla had a 41-29 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Alyssa Baron (178-1992, college: Pennsylvania) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Latvian point guard Elina Dikaioulaku (173-1989) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. Five E.Ramla players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jaime Nared (188-1995, college: Tennessee) who recorded 26 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import center Jillian Alleyne (190-1994, college: Oregon, agency: LBM Management) added 12 points and 16 rebounds respectively. M.Ramat Gan will play next round against strong M.Haifa trying to make it back to the top of the standings. E.Ramla will try to continue on its current victory against H.Rishon LZ in Rishon Le-Zion.
