Regular Season Round 25: Westerstede - Oldenburger TB 63-71

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Oldenburger TB (3-19) beat on the road 9th ranked Westerstede (6-17) 71-63 on Saturday. Oldenburger TB forced 22 Westerstede turnovers. Andre Galler (195-1992) stepped up and scored 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and forward Bart Zents (198-1992) chipped in 9 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side point guard Luca Michels (183-2002) responded with 27 points (made all of his seven free throws) and Felix Meyer-Tonndorf (196-1996) scored 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Oldenburger TB moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Bergedorf. Westerstede lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 17 games lost. Oldenburger TB will meet at home higher ranked SG Braunschweig (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Westerstede will have a break next round.
