Regular Season Round 23: Zornotza - Talavera 74-69

There was no surprise in Amorebieta-Echano where 12th ranked Talavera (7-16) was defeated by third ranked Zornotza (15-8) 74-69 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was guard Alberto Cabrera (187-1998) who scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Iker Salazar (202-1993, agency: Promo Sport ID) chipped in 12 points. Five Zornotza players scored in double figures. Guard Josep Peris (192-2000) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and American-Armenian guard Corey Silverstrom (196-1995, college: Chico St.) added 20 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Zornotza maintains third place with 15-8 record having nine points less than leader Prat. Talavera lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with 16 games lost. They share it with Tormes and Salou. Zornotza will meet Real Canoe (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Talavera will play against Ponferrada and hope to secure a win.
