Regular Season Round 23: Charilaos - Panerythraikos 72-59

There was an upset in Mesolongi where 4th placed Panerythraikos (14-9) was defeated by eleventh ranked Charilaos (10-12) 72-59 on Saturday. It was a great evening for point guard Nikos Houhoumis (186-1996) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points. American point guard TJ Washington (183-1998, college: Utah Valley) helped adding 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Charilaos players scored in double figures. Power forward Kostas Kampouridis (204-1999) responded with 13 points and forward Dimitris Papadimitriou (200-1997) scored 9 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Charilaos maintains eleventh place with 10-12 record. Panerythraikos lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Iraklis and Papagou. Charilaos will meet higher ranked Iraklis (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Panerythraikos will play against Megaridas and hope to secure a win.
