Regular Season Round 23: Igualada - Esparreguera 60-65

There was a minor upset when 11th ranked Igualada (8-14) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked Esparreguera (8-14) 65-60 on Saturday. It was a great evening for power forward Roger Perez (203-1996) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Eduard Nogues (193-2003, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 18 points. Center Marc Bernadi (205-1993) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and center Eduard Tejero (196-1992) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Esparreguera. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Igualada. Esparreguera will meet at home higher ranked Tarragona (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Igualada will play against Valls (#4) and hope to secure a win.
