Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Valladolid (16-8) outleveled at home bottom-ranked Melilla (4-20) 85-66 on Saturday. Valladolid had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Kevin Allen (209-1994, college: Emporia St., agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and naturalized Dominican guard Michael Torres Cuevas (188-1994) who added 19 points during the contest. Four Valladolid players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Trey Davis (183-1993, college: UMass) with 11 points and Lithuanian Simas Jarumbauskas (198-2000, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 11 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Valladolid moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Estudiantes and Lleida. Melilla lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. Valladolid will meet Ourense (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Melilla will play against Almansa (#15) and hope to secure a win.
