Very expected game when 12th ranked Gaziantep (7-14) was defeated at home by third ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (16-5) 84-77 on Saturday. The former international point guard Kenan Sipahi (197-1995, agency: BeoBasket) stepped up and scored 23 points and 4 assists for the winners and Lithuanian forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas (205-1989) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Pinar Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Nigerian center John Egbunu (211-1994, college: Florida) with 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-Bulgarian point guard Codi Miller-McIntyre (191-1994, college: Wake Forest) scored 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Pinar Karsiyaka. They maintain third place with 16-5 record having just two points less than leader Turk Telekom. Loser Gaziantep dropped to the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Tofas. Pinar Karsiyaka will meet at home league's leader Turk Telekom in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
