There was no surprise when 14th ranked Valladolid (3-19) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Santurtzi (12-10) 74-66 on Saturday. It was a great evening for forward Imanol Artinano (203-1995, college: ABU) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Miguel Zamora (189-1993) helped adding 12 points. Four Santurtzi players scored in double figures. Forward Juan Saez (195-2002) responded with 9 points and 7 rebounds and Juan Garcia-abril scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Santurtzi have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Valladolid lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Jovens. Santurtzi will meet higher ranked Mondragon (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valladolid will play against Cantbasket (#6) and hope to secure a win.
