Everything went according to plan when first ranked Gandia (19-2) won against on the road 3rd placed Murcia 2 (17-14) 80-74 on Sunday. Gandia made 34-of-43 free shots (79.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Murcia 2 turnovers. Strangely Murcia 2 outrebounded Gandia 45-32 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Unai Zamora (193-2001) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Javier Soler (199-2000) helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Gandia players scored in double figures. Gandia's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swedish Villiam Garcia (202-2004) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and guard Daniel Arjol (194-2003) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Gandia. They maintain first place with 19-2 record. Murcia 2 lost their third game in a row. They keep the third position with 14 games lost. Gandia will meet at home Benidorm (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Murcia 2 will play against Ontinet in Ontinyent and hope to secure a win.
