Regular Season Round 25: Mannheim - Fellbach 61-74

Rather expected game when 4th placed Mannheim (15-9) was defeated at home by second ranked Fellbach (21-4) 74-61 on Sunday. Guard Lars Berger (194-1996) stepped up and scored 13 points for the winners and center Andreas Kronhardt (205-1989) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Fellbach players scored in double figures. At the losing side Tobias Faller responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and Polish Slawomir Klocek (192-1984) scored 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for Fellbach. They maintain second place with 21-4 record having just three point less than leader Saarlouis. Loser Mannheim keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Fellbach will meet at home Stuttgart MVT (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mannheim will play against Reutlingen and hope to secure a win.
