Regular Season Round 25: Angers - ASA 103-88
Date: March 24, 2023
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked ASA (13-12) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Etoile Angers (12-13) 103-88 on Friday. Etoile Angers forced 21 ASA turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including 23 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by ASA's players. American-Bahamas forward Jonathan Augustin-Fairell (201-1993, college: Murray St.) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guyanese forward Youri Morose (202-1997) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Naturalized Spanish guard Tom Digbeu (195-2001) produced 18 points and 4 assists and Serbian power forward Strahinja Gavrilovic (206-1993, college: USC) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Etoile Angers and four ASA players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
