The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KR won fourth quarter 26-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stjarnan made 25-of-31 charity shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Stjarnan outrebounded KR 45-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. American center Riley Popplewell (180-1997, college: USC Upstate) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points, 23 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and point guard Isold Saevarsdottir (165-2007) accounted for 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Stjarnan's coach Audur Olafsdottir allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Violet Morrow (176-1997, college: EWU, agency: Interperformances) came up with 30 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Hulda Bergsteinsdottir (180-1999) added 26 points and 7 rebounds respectively for KR in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
