Regular Season Round 20: TSU - Mega 93-77

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: TSU (#4) and Mega (#8). TSU (10-8) smashed visiting Mega (7-12) by 16 points 93-77. The game was mostly controlled by TSU. Mega managed to win second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Djimon Henson (193-1998, college: Morehead St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import point guard Malcolm Drumwright (188-1995, college: JSU) who added 19 points, 7 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Five TSU players scored in double figures. TSU's coach Leqso Lapanashvili used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Marqus Gilson (196, college: CWU) responded with 24 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Otari Buliava (198-1994) scored 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. TSU maintains fourth position with 10-8 record, which they share with Cactus. Mega at the other side dropped to the ninth place with 12 games lost. TSU's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Titebi.
