No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Pozega (9-12) smashed on the road 11th ranked Split (3-17) 81-54 on Sunday. Pozega dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Split's 34. Pozega forced 24 Split turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international center Emilija Podrug (190-1979) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and American guard Lashonda Monk (168, college: Ole Miss) chipped in 24 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. The best for the losing side was forward Ivana Brnas (180-1997) with 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Tea Turic (178-1998) scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Split's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Pozega. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Sibenik. Split lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Pozega will meet at home higher ranked Zagreb (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Split will play against the league's second-placed Tresnjevka (#2) in Zagreb and hope to secure a win.
