Everything went according to plan when third ranked Vendee Challans (3-2) defeated at home bottom-ranked Lyon (0-4) 83-68 on Tuesday. Vendee Challans made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game, while Lyon only scored five points from the stripe. They outrebounded Lyon 38-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. Vendee Challans looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Bahamas forward Radshad Davis (195-1996, college: FIU) nailed a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Lithuanian forward Gilvydas Biruta (206-1991, college: URI) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Romain Parmentelot (190-2004) came up with 21 points and 5 rebounds and center Bastien Albert (201-1994) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Lyon in the defeat. Lyon's coach let to play ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vendee Challans moved-up to second place, which they share with 7 other teams. Loser Lyon still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Pole France. Vendee Challans will meet Andrezieux (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lyon will play against Rueil and hopes to get finally their first victory.
