Regular Season Round 24: Balkan - Levski 77-68
Date: March 29, 2023
No shocking result in a game in Botevgrad where second ranked Balkan (17-6) defeated 5th ranked Levski (12-11) 77-68 on Wednesday. Worth to mention a great performance of Chilean-Spanish center Manny Suarez (208-1993, college: Creighton) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Pavlin Ivanov (195-1993, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. Balkan's coach Toni Dechev used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Alan Arnett (196-1994, college: GSW, agency: BIG) with 23 points and the former international point guard Asen Velikov (188-1986) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Defending champion maintains second position with 17-6 record having five points less than leader Rilski. Levski lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 11 games lost. Balkan will meet at home Beroe (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Levski will play against Chernomorets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
