Very predictable result when third ranked Tours (4-2) defeated on the road 9th ranked Besancon (1-5) 102-84 on Friday. Tours dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Besancon's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Scott Suggs (197-1989, college: Washington) who scored 26 points and 4 assists. Point guard Jayson Tchicamboud (186-2002) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Tours' coach Thomas Drouot allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American Mykal Riley (198-1985, college: Alabama) who recorded 23 points and Serbian swingman Nikola Knezevic (200-1999) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tours have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Rueil and Chartres. Besancon lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. Tours will meet at home Lyon (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Besancon will play against Toulouse and hope to win that game.
