The guests trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 29-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Kouvot outrebounded Vilpas 39-23 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Kouvot's players. The best player for the winners was the former international Mikko Koivisto (194-1987, college: UNCG, agency: Blacktop Management) who scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward KeyShawn Feazell (206-1998, college: Creighton) chipped in 24 points and 4 blocks. Four Vilpas players scored in double figures. American forward John Meeks (198-1999, college: Charleston) produced 38 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Deshon Taylor (188-1996, college: Fresno St.) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts.
