Regular Season Round 27: ETB Miners - Koeln DTV 88-90

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked ETB Miners (20-6) in Essen on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by third ranked Koeln DTV (16-10) 90-88. Koeln DTV looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Valentin Blass (198-1995) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds. American-British guard Elijah Jenkins (190, college: Embry Riddle) helped adding 19 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Montenegrin center Dzemal Selimovic (205-1999) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and Bulgarian Milen Zahariev (190-1992) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Five Koeln DTV and four ETB Miners players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Koeln DTV maintains third place with 16-10 record having four points less than leader Fellbach. ETB Miners at the other side still keep top position with six games lost. They share it with Langen.
