Regular Season Round 29: AIK Basket - Helsingborg 95-84

The game between second ranked Helsingborg (18-6) and seventh ranked AIK Basket (13-11) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Helsingborg was defeated by AIK Basket in Solna 84-95. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Helsingborg. AIK Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Helsingborg's 34. It was a great shooting night for AIK Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Helsingborg's players. Olle Welander (-2000) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Elias Nilsson (188-2003) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four AIK Basket players scored in double figures. Samoro Unger answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and French forward Alexis Plomteux (198-1996) added 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Helsingborg. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AIK Basket have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ockelbo and Norrort. Newly promoted Helsingborg keeps the second position with six games lost.
