Regular Season Round 25: Polytechnica - Voltron 120-70

Bottom-ranked Voltron (0-21) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 120-70 loss to sixth ranked Polytechnica (12-8) in Sofia. They dominated down low during the game scoring 104 of its points in the paint compared to Voltron's 34. They outrebounded Voltron 58-25 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Polytechnica players were unselfish on offense dishing 45 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Voltron's players. Worth to mention a great performance of center Radoslav Kolev (199-1988) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds. Guard Orlin Atanasov (192-1972) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Boris Voykov (194-2000, agency: Interperformances) answered with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Tomislav Petkov (-2004) added 16 points and 5 assists in the effort for Voltron. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Polytechnica moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Akademik PL 2. Newly promoted Voltron still closes the standings with 21 games lost. Polytechnica will play against league's second-placed Sportist Svoge on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Voltron will have a break next round.
