The game without a history. Torpan Pojat led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Torpan Pojat outrebounded Vimpelin Veto 40-25 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Iimari Thomas (178-2000, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Meri Kanerva (177) contributed with 21 points and 8 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Torpan Pojat's coach Niko Kuusi felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Kristina King (190-1995, college: WVU) answered with 17 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Alex Wittinger (185-1997, college: Illinois) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Vimpelin Veto.
