There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Casale Libertas (9-17) won against at home higher ranked Montecatiniterme (13-15) 85-78 on Wednesday. Alessandro Riva (205-1998) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and point guard Guglielmo De Ros (186-1998) supported him with 20 points and 6 assists. Even 19 points and 5 rebounds by Marco Lagana (197-1993) did not help to save the game for Montecatiniterme. The former international power forward Luca Infante (206-1982) added 8 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Casale Libertas moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Borgomanero. Montecatiniterme at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Casale Libertas will meet Langhe Roero (#16) in the next round. Montecatiniterme will play against Sangiorgese (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
