Regular Season Round 26: Kyiv Basket - Dnipro 65-81

An interesting game for Dnipro (23-7) which played road game in Kyiv against 4th ranked Kyiv Basket (21-9). Second ranked Dnipro had an easy win 81-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kyiv Basket. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Dnipro's pressure prevailed and they won that period 28-16 extending their advantage to 16 points. They made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Dnipro outrebounded Kyiv Basket 41-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. Point guard Maksym Zakurdaev (196-1993) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 5 assists. The former international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (205-1989, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Dnipro players scored in double figures. Dnipro's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Danya Kingsby (185-1998, college: GSU) replied with 24 points and swingman Nazar Kisilchuk (195-1997) added 17 points in the effort for Kyiv Basket. Dnipro have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 23-7 record having six points less than leader Budivelnyk. Kyiv Basket at the other side keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. Dnipro are looking forward to face BIPA O. (#3) in Odessa in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kyiv Basket's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kyiv Budivelnyk.
