Second Stage Round 5: Che-Basket - Invasport 76-104

No shocking result in a game in Czernowitz where thirteenth ranked Invasport (4-1) outleveled 16th ranked Che-Basket (1-7) 104-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Invasport. Che-Basket managed to win third quarter 26-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Invasport shot 20 for 31 from the free-throw line, while Che-Basket only scored four points from the stripe. They outrebounded Che-Basket 41-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. Invasport looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was center Yevgen Brechko (206-1992) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Maksym Ferenets (195-2002) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Nikita Tsurkan (185-2001) produced 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Valentin Goma (192-2006) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Invasport and five Che-Basket players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Invasport have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Khmelnytskyi. Che-Basket lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth position with seven games lost. Invasport will meet higher ranked MBC-Niko 2 (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Che-Basket will have a break next round.
