There was a surprise result when seventeenth ranked Skyliners (7-20) outplayed higher ranked Seawolves (13-14) in Rostock 99-77 on Sunday. Skyliners shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American-North Macedonian point guard Jordan Theodore (182-1989, college: Seton Hall) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 8 assists. Lithuanian Laurynas Beliauskas (193-1997) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Five Skyliners players scored in double figures. American point guard JeQuan Lewis (185-1994, college: VCU, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 20 points and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the other American import Nijal Pearson (196-1997, college: Texas St.) added 11 points and 5 assists respectively for Seawolves in the defeat. Seawolves' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Skyliners maintains seventeenth place with 7-20 record. Newly promoted Seawolves keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. Skyliners will meet at home higher ranked MBC (#15) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Seawolves will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg (#12) and hope to secure a win.
