Regular Season Round 27: Kyiv Basket - Budivelnyk 69-90

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kyiv: Budivelnyk (#1) and Kyiv Basket (#4). Kyiv Basket was crushed at home by 21 points 69-90 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Budivelnyk. Kyiv Basket managed to win second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Budivelnyk dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Kyiv Basket's 30. They outrebounded Kyiv Basket 45-21 including a 21-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Budivelnyk looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for the former international forward Volodymyr Koniev (203-1989) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The former international point guard Pavlo Burenko (184-1990, agency: BIG) helped adding 27 points and 6 assists. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. Budivelnyk's coach Valerii Plekhanov felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Danya Kingsby (185-1998, college: GSU) with 23 points and 4 assists and swingman Anton Musiyenko (192-1997) scored 9 points and 4 assists. Budivelnyk have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 31-1 record. Kyiv Basket at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost.
