Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventeenth ranked Iraurgi SB and 16th ranked Albacete had identical 6-21 record. But Albacete was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Azpeitia 79-74 on Sunday night. The winners were led by Swedish point guard Barra Njie (191-2001) who scored that evening 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Senegalese forward Khadim Sy (208-1997, college: Wake Forest) supported him with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds by forward Ivan Aurrecoechea (204-1995, college: NM State) did not help to save the game for Albacete. Danish swingman David Knudsen (190-1994, college: Marist, agency: Players Group) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Iraurgi SB (7-21) moved-up to sixteenth place. Newly promoted Albacete dropped to the seventeenth position with 22 games lost. They share it with Melilla. Iraurgi SB will meet at home higher ranked Caceres (#13) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Albacete will play against Lleida (#7) and hope to secure a win.
