Round in BasketLigaen means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Svendborg where host Svendborg (14-14) edged league's leader Bakken (22-6) 83-82 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Bakken. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jermaine Marrow (183-1997, college: Hampton) who scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Bahamas forward Kentwan Smith (203-1991, college: Stetson) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Elijah Childs (202-1999, college: Bradley) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and international forward Darko Jukic (199-1990) added 13 points and 9 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Svendborg maintains fifth place with 14-14 record. Defending champion Bakken dropped to the second position with six games lost. They share it with Randers. They were replaced at the leadership position by Copenhagen. Bakken will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Svendborg will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Bakken in Aarhus.
