Serie A2 top team - Empoli (23-3) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Roseto (4-21) 71-38. Empoli dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Roseto's 22. Empoli forced 25 Roseto turnovers and outrebounded them 43-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was center Laura Manetti (180-1999) who scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Czech swingman Adela Smutna (183-1999, college: Northwest JC) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Chiara Schena (180) produced 9 points and 5 rebounds and Spanish-Argentinian power forward Erica Sanchez (182-1976) added 6 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Empoli have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 23-3 record. Roseto lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth place with 21 games lost.
